- Advised on portal alarm instrumentation to prevent 9/11 events.
- Monitored and reported on radiation doserates in dental surgeries and veterinary clinics.
- Reviewed periodic dosimetry records for a SME.
- Recommended clean-up procedures for a thorium handling plant.
- Inspected, with an external auditor, a fish disease research laboratory.
- Helped validate a NATO nuclear response plan with a major practical exercise.
- Advised over 2000 schools and colleges on the use, storage and disposal of radioactive material.
- Performed shielding calculations for a company installing a teletherapy unit.
- Advised on the installation of fixed remote flow measuring devices.
- Assisted a site in the investigation of a lost/mislaid source following EA enforcement action.
- Trained over 90 X-ray set researchers and laboratory researchers.
- Acted as specialist witness in a court case on behalf of a client v
HSE.
- Reviewed procedures for the use of radioiodine intake monitoring programmes.
- Wrote over 90 reports as formal advice documents together with numerous informal e-mails.
- Calibrated and Tested more than 100 instruments.
- Assisted a site to comply with an EA enforcement notice.
- Advised an NDT company on the purchase, storage and use of a high activity source.
- Visited over 20 industrial sites to ensure that X-ray sets are being safely used.
- Recommended safe storage and transport procedures for 800 smoke detectors.
- Completed 5 BPM reviews for sites requiring new EA registrations and authorisations.
- Audited 7 sites against their compliance with IRR99.
- Audited 42 sites against their compliance against IR(ME)R2000.
- Advised 6 sites on transport of RAM.
- Trained over 120 supervisory staff in major UK companies.
