The company is pleased to offer a reliable and responsive personal dosimetry service utilising the latest Electronic Personal Dosimeters. This service is only suitable for users who are not classified persons or as a backup to other HSE approved dosimeters. An Electronic Personal Dosimeter (EPD) will allow the day to day, or even task by task, monitoring of individuals when working with ionising radiations. Depending on your level of usage you may purchase your own EPDs or lease a set of EPDs through
the company. The EPD can measure penetrating external radiation (gamma, x-ray and beta) and is ideal where individual tasks may result in a range of personal doses. In these situations day to day knowledge of doses received is invaluable in ensuring doses are maintained as low as reasonably practicable. The service that the company can offer includes:

Monitor Calibration and Testing Service |
The company offers a fast, efficient and reliable calibration and testing service for your contamination monitors. Contamination monitoring equipment should normally be tested and thoroughly examined at least once every year, or more often if problems are encountered. Our testing is carried out by qualified persons * who have over 25 years expertise with numerous types of monitors. We have access to a dedicated instrument testing laboratory. Our calibrations ensure accuracy and precision by using traceable standards. Each instrument is presented to up to seven different sources within a range of geometric and shielding arrangements. We are also able to provide advice if you need repair or replacement.

Testing and Calibration of Contamination Instruments |

The company uses specialist facilities for the Testing and Examination of Contamination Instruments under the provisions of the Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999. This includes: Identifying faults and establish or check the calibration of the instrument as required by Reg 19(2) and 19(3) according to standard UEA procedures.
